The Glory Years
In these fraught times, Theo Fennell’s second collection of anecdotes, The Glory Years (More Chapters of Accidents) comes as a welcome antidote.
Following on from his first collection, I Fear For This Boy (Some Chapters of Accidents) he relates, in hilarious detail, some of the more humiliating and hysterical episodes from a life lived between the fast lane and the hard shoulder.
It is that modern rarity, a book that is cheerful, sympathetic and genuinely laugh-out-loud funny.
Theo Fennell was born in Egypt, the son of an army family and spent his early years all over the world. He was sent to boarding school at five, then to Eton, York College of Art, followed by the Byam Shaw School of Art. He is the leading British jewellery and silverware designer. He lives in London with his wife, Louise, the author and screen writer. The couple have two daughters, Emerald, a writer, actor and director, and Coco, a dress designer. His first volume of Chapters of Accidents, I Fear for This Boy, was published in 2022.
News & Reviews
- ‘Absolutely brilliant. Very, very funny. It’s hilarious throughout and written with great, articulate poise and adroitness. The stories are beautifully shaped, in many instances almost Chekhovian. The perfect successor to I Fear for This Boy.’ – William Boyd
